The concrete version of the FOLLY seat, designed by Ron Arad and originally in polyethylene, was presented this morning at the Salon des Maires, at the stand of the new Agora Makers group, where the products of Metalco, Ghm and Eclatec are present.
This new version was born from the partnership between Metalco and Magis Spa, a famous furniture company from northern Italy, and is made with a high-performance cement mixture called HPC (High Performance Concrete).
The external sides of the bench are characterized by continuous and light lines, inspired by nature and have a smooth formwork finish to keep their aesthetics unaltered. The seat surface is even, without reliefs, to increase comfort and contrast with the external sides, and is available in both a smooth formwork and smoothed finish, to highlight the aggregates of the mixture.
The dynamic and sinuous lines have been maintained thanks to the physical characteristics of the HPC. In fact, this mixture allows you to achieve thinner shapes and thicknesses than normal concrete, while maintaining high structural resistance.
